Usually lacking the austere, tannic complexity of aged Brunello, Rosso di Montalcino makes excellent drinking at a lower cost,. As Italy's first alternative appelation to DOCG, this gives growers the option of using grapes from the vineyards for either Brunello or this younger DOC. Rosso del Cavalier Tranquillo is made from a blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo Toscano, and Trebbiano grapes from vineyards that are 5, 10 and 70 years old. Fermentation is done in glass lined cement tanks at a temperature less than 27°C, followed by one year aging in stainless steel and three months rest in the bottle before release.

This is a typical Italian white dessert wine that is made from specially selected grapes of Chianti Malvasia and Toscano Trebbiano. The grapes are left to dry on mats until as late as the last part of November, They are then pressed and the "Must" obtained after this pressing is aged in small oak kegs for at least five years.

The traditional Tuscan governo-style of wine making is also employed in the making of this wine , with the periodic natural decanting (drawing off) the addition of fresh must and the maturation of the wine in Slavonic oak barrels (in underground cellars). 2007 Cascina Bruni Barolo Riserva "Vigna Batistot"

The Barolo Riserva comes from his select vineyard "Batistot" that in the year 2004, marks its 60th year. This Barolo Riserva is only made in the best harvest years, since production is limited but produces fruit of the highest quality. The wine is then aged for 5 years in very old chestnut barrels (the Veglio's barrels are 100 years old).
When the wine is young, it will often show ruby or even blackberry color, with age it becomes a medium garnet with a warm brick red rim. It is round and harmonious with a bracingly firm edge. The palate will often detect the taste of violets, wild berries, vanilla, chocolate, mint, licorice and all manner of spices.
